How do I…?

The AI-Karma manual, one task at a time. Search for what you want to do, the steps are below.

Assess my company and read my results

Assess my company
  1. Click “Assess my company” at the top of the page. Enter the company name, its sector family and headcount; the website is optional and enables a pre-analysis.
  2. Answer the questions of the next four steps, one per dimension: Technology, Compliance, Environment, Society.
  3. Click “Calculate my KarmaScore”. The results open right away.

It is free, needs no account, and your answers stay in your browser. A draft is kept if you close the page before the end.

Read my results
  1. The overall score is out of 100. The Swiss Ethical AI Inside label threshold is shown next to it, with the missing points if it is not reached.
  2. The four dimensions show your score against the reference average, with the weight of each for your sector.
  3. The action plan puts first the legal obligations left at zero, the critical signals, then the quickest wins: for each indicator, the current level, the next one and the points gained.
Get a written report
  1. On the results page, click “Generate the report” in the KarmaWriter section.
  2. The report is written in a few dozen seconds. “Regenerate” produces a new version.

The report is written by an AI from your figures, which it cannot change: every number is checked against the source data before display. Generating the report sends those figures to the writing service; the rest of your answers never leave your browser.

Find an assessment made earlier
  1. Open “Your assessments”, from the Tools menu or the footer.
  2. Each assessment is there with its date and score. Click it to reopen the results.

Assessments live in this browser, on this device. On another computer or after clearing the browser, they are not there: export them to keep them.

Build the responsible-AI file
  1. Open “File” and pick the assessment concerned.
  2. The file gathers the score, the 24 indicators as declared with the expected supporting evidence, and the upcoming regulatory deadlines. It prints.

Compliance tools

Find out whether the AI Act applies to a use case
  1. Open “AI Act classification” and describe the use case in one sentence.
  2. Answer the five steps: link with the EU, your role, prohibited practices, high-risk areas, transparency.
  3. The verdict gives the category and the obligations that follow. You can add it to the register.
Keep the register of AI systems
  1. Open “Register”. Add a system by classifying a use case, or “Add manually”: use case, tool, vendor.
  2. Each row carries its review date and cadence. “Revalidated today” resets the counter; “to review” flags an overdue review.
  3. “Export (JSON)” or “Export as CSV” to archive it or pass it on.
Generate my transparency notices
  1. Open “Transparency pack”. Enter the company name, the languages you need and your AI touchpoints with the public.
  2. Copy each notice with “Copy”, then go through the checklist below.

Article 50 of the AI Act is in force. The page states the legal basis and the deadline of each notice.

Find out whether a data protection impact assessment is due
  1. Open “Impact assessment”. Answer the first question: does the processing carry a high risk?
  2. Then the second: are you exempt? The verdict says whether the assessment is mandatory, likely, or not required.

This tool covers article 22 of the Swiss FADP. It is not a FRIA under the AI Act.

See what changed in the reference framework
  1. Open “Regulatory watch”: the legal version in force, the dated register of reviews, and what will trigger the next one.

My data and the site

Export my assessments, or move them to another device
  1. On a results page, “Export (JSON)” downloads the complete assessment. “Export as CSV” gives the indicators table.
  2. On the other device, open “Your assessments”, then “Import (.json)” and pick the file.
  3. Imported assessments appear in the list; those already present are not duplicated.
Delete an assessment
  1. Open “Your assessments”.
  2. Click “Delete” on the row concerned.

It disappears from this browser, and there is nothing else to erase: it was stored nowhere else.

Recover my assessments from the site's old address
  1. Open “Recovery” from the old address: the page counts the assessments present in this browser.
  2. “Download my data (.json)”, then import the file on ai-karma.ch, under “Your assessments”.
Change the site language
  1. Use the language switcher at the top right of the page or at the bottom in the footer.
  2. The address changes with the language: /de or /en before the path. French stays without a prefix.

If a page only exists in French, the link to it says so with a small “FR”, and you land on the French page rather than a missing one.

Support and contact

Get support: the flash audit
  1. The “Flash audit” page describes the six-week process, from scoping to the final presentation, the deliverables and the price.
  2. Click “Request a flash audit”: a pre-filled e-mail opens, with no commitment.
What is free, what is paid
  1. The “Pricing” page details it. The assessment, results and compliance tools are free; support and the offers for groups and institutions are paid.
Ask a question, report an error
  1. Write to contact@ai-karma.ch, or use the “Contact” page, which routes by topic: flash audit, groups and institutions, methodology or press.
